HighMarkets licence numbers

HighMarkets publishes Seychelles licence SD218, held by DXA Seychelles Limited. That licence is real. It is also not HighMarkets' licence in the way most people assume when they check a number and it comes back valid. On the regulator's own register, the declared trade name on SD218 is ALGOBI, and HighMarkets appears only as one of two websites listed against the entry.

What the Seychelles register actually says

Read on the Financial Services Authority's securities dealers list on 24 September 2026:

Two brands, one licence, one company. The registered contact address for the licence is an Algobi address, and the support email on the regulator's file is an Algobi email.

The distinction that matters

A regulator's register lets a licence holder declare trade names, which are the brands it is authorised to operate under, and separately record websites. They are not the same thing.

Capitalix and FXRoad share a licence too, and on their entry both names are recorded as declared trade names. That is how it is meant to look. On SD218 only ALGOBI is a declared trade name. HighMarkets is disclosed to the regulator as a website of the licence holder, which is a weaker position, and it is not the same as being an authorised brand in its own right.

We are stating what the register shows, not alleging that HighMarkets operates unlawfully. The narrow, checkable fact is this: if you verify SD218 you are verifying Algobi's licence. The address does not match either

The address HighMarkets publishes on its own site is not the Providence Complex address on the licence. When a broker's stated address and its regulator's recorded address differ, the register is the one that counts, and the difference is worth asking about before you deposit.

What SD218 does not give you

A Seychelles securities dealer licence is a real authorisation and a low bar. It carries:

• No compensation scheme. If the firm fails owing you money, there is no fund to claim from. Compare the FSCS at £85,000 in the UK or the Irish scheme at €20,000.
• No retail ombudsman you can escalate a complaint to.
• No leverage cap of the kind the FCA and ESMA impose at 30:1 on major currency pairs.
• No negative balance protection requirement.

Check it yourself

Open the FSA Seychelles securities dealers list and search the licence holder's name rather than the brand. The list is published by company, so searching "HighMarkets" finds nothing and searching "DXA Seychelles" finds the entry with both websites on it.
