Capitalix Review: A Chilean Regulator Notice and a Suspended Trustpilot Score

Capitalix is operated by 4Square SY Ltd under FSA Seychelles licence SD052, a licence it shares with the FXRoad brand. Chile's CMF published a notice in June 2023 stating Capitalix is not supervised by it. Trustpilot has suspended the TrustScore for a guideline breach and removed fake reviews, with 94% of 349 reviews at one star. We score it 2.7 out of 10.

Why we rated it Scam

1. Trustpilot pulled the score, not just the stars

Capitalix has 349 Trustpilot reviews and 94% of them are one star. That ratio alone would be bad but survivable, because losing traders write angry reviews everywhere. The status is the part that matters: Trustpilot has made the rating unavailable due to a breach of its guidelines and states it has removed a number of fake reviews for the company.

A firm with unhappy customers gets a low score. A firm whose score has been taken away has been caught trying to bury one. Those are different findings and the second is the heavier of the two.

2. A national regulator has published a notice

Chile’s Comision para el Mercado Financiero published a notice on 27 June 2023 naming Capitalix and its Spanish-language site, stating plainly that it is not an entity supervised by the CMF and directing the public to its citizen alerts portal before investing.

Be precise about what this is and is not. It is not a fraud finding and it does not allege theft. It is a regulator in a country Capitalix was marketing into telling residents that the firm is outside its supervision. That is a real, dated, primary-source fact and it belongs in the score.

3. The complaint pattern is the familiar one

Across the recent public reviews the same sequence recurs: an assigned account manager calls frequently and presses for further deposits, positions are opened at sizes the client says they did not understand or authorise, the balance is drawn down, and withdrawal requests are then blocked or ignored.

We have verified no individual account and we are not asserting that any specific transaction happened as described. What we can say is that the shape repeats across hundreds of reviews, and that this shape is the recognised signature of an operation that does not intend to let client money leave.

4. One licence, two brands, and the honest part

Capitalix runs on FSA Seychelles licence SD052, held by 4Square SY Ltd, company number 8426168-1. The same licence also carries FXRoad. We want to give credit where it is due here: unlike some operators, 4 Square SY Limited has declared both brands on the FSA register entry, so anyone who looks the licence up will find both names against it. That is genuine transparency and it is why the transparency pillar is not scored near the floor.

What the licence itself provides is another matter. No investor compensation scheme, so a failure leaves nothing behind your balance, against 85,000 pounds per person per firm under the UK’s FSCS and 20,000 euros under the Cyprus fund. No ombudsman. No statutory leverage cap, which is how 1:200 is advertised where a UK, EU or Australian retail account is capped at 30:1 on major pairs. Segregation is not mandated and no custodian bank is named.

Regulation and licence check

The entity taking deposits is 4Square SY Ltd. Check that name against the payment descriptor on your bank statement when you fund, because a mismatch there is the most common single finding behind a Scam verdict on this site. Capitalix states it does not offer CFDs to residents of the United States, Canada, the European Union, Japan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, North Korea, Sudan, Myanmar or Russia. The first four of those are the jurisdictions with leverage caps, compensation schemes and a complaints route.

Costs

Capitalix advertises spreads from 0.5 pips with no trading commission. That is competitive on paper. It publishes no swap table, no inactivity fee, no withdrawal fee schedule and no minimum deposit that we could find, which is where the real cost of an account in this bracket usually sits.

What to do if you already have money with Capitalix

We are not a recovery service and we take no fee from anyone who is.

  • Put the withdrawal request in writing through the platform and keep a timestamped copy. A phone call with an account manager is not evidence.
  • Do not deposit more to release a withdrawal. No legitimate broker needs a new deposit before returning an existing balance.
  • If you funded by card, ask your bank about a chargeback and ask now. Card scheme time limits run in months from the transaction date.
  • Complain to the FSA Seychelles as the licensing authority and to your own national regulator.
  • Treat any inbound offer to recover your money for an upfront fee as a second fraud.

Questions traders ask

Is Capitalix a scam?

We rate it Scam at 2.7 out of 10. It holds a genuine Seychelles licence and declares its brands on the register, so it is not a purely fictitious operation. But Trustpilot has suspended its score for a guideline breach and removed fake reviews, Chile’s CMF has published a notice that it is not supervised, and the dominant complaint pattern is pressure to deposit followed by blocked withdrawals.

Is Capitalix the same company as FXRoad?

Yes. Both brands are operated by 4Square SY Ltd under the single FSA Seychelles licence SD052, and both are declared as trade names on the register entry for that licence.

Can I withdraw money from Capitalix?

Public reviews describe withdrawal requests being blocked or ignored, frequently after an account manager has pressed for further deposits. Capitalix publishes no withdrawal processing time or fee schedule that we could find. We could not verify individual accounts and we would not deposit on this evidence.

What happens to my money if Capitalix fails?

There is no compensation scheme covering Seychelles-licensed firms, so nothing is guaranteed. Segregation is not mandated by that regime and no custodian bank is named, so it cannot be independently confirmed.
