Is Capitalix a scam?

A financial regulator has published a notice about Capitalix, and its Trustpilot rating has been removed for a guidelines breach. We rate it Scam.

The regulator notice

Chile's Comisión para el Mercado Financiero published a notice concerning Capitalix on 27 June 2023.

The date matters, and we say so because we got it wrong first. Second-hand sources reported it as June 2025. Reading the CMF's own publication showed it is dated 2023, two years earlier. If you see the later date quoted elsewhere, it is not what the regulator published.

The licence, and the brand that shares it

Capitalix is operated by 4Square SY Ltd under FSA Seychelles licence SD052, at CT House, Office 9A, Providence, Mahe.

The same entity and the same licence also carry FXRoad. We checked the FSA's public list of licensed securities dealers directly: 4 Square SY Limited is listed with the trade names CAPITALIX and FXROAD, both properly declared against the one licence.

That is a legitimate arrangement, and it is worth knowing. Two brands, two websites, one company and one licence means one balance sheet. If the company fails, both brands fail together, and Seychelles has no compensation scheme to pay either set of clients.

The Trustpilot profile

Trustpilot removed the star rating from Capitalix's profile for a guidelines breach. Of 349 reviews, 94% sit at one star.

We confirmed those figures on the profile itself rather than taking them from an aggregator. A removed rating means Trustpilot found the profile was being manipulated. Where the surviving reviews are almost entirely one-star, the manipulation was burying complaints rather than manufacturing praise.

What to do

If you hold an account, request a withdrawal now and keep the written record. Read the CMF notice yourself, dated 27 June 2023, and check SD052 on the FSA Seychelles register so you can see the two trade names on one licence.

Capital.com and eToro are the brokers we currently rate Trusted, both with a statutory compensation scheme behind the entity you would contract with.

The full rating is in our Capitalix review.
