Why we rated it Scam

1. 1:2000 leverage is the finding

Versus Trade advertises leverage up to 1:2000, with stocks capped at 1:40, on a minimum deposit of $10.

It is worth sitting with what 1:2000 means rather than treating it as a marketing number. At that ratio, a position is fully wiped out by a 0.05% move against it. The euro against the dollar routinely moves several times that within an hour on an ordinary day. A US non-farm payrolls release can move it twenty times that in seconds.

For comparison, a retail client in the UK, the EU or Australia is capped at 30:1 on major currency pairs. That cap exists because regulators looked at the outcome data and concluded that retail clients trading at higher ratios lose their money at rates that could not be defended. 1:2000 is not a more generous version of 30:1. It is a different product, and its most likely outcome is total loss of the deposit in a short period.

Pairing it with a $10 minimum is what completes the picture. The combination is designed to be frictionless to enter and near-impossible to survive.

2. There is no regulator, and to its credit the site does not pretend otherwise

Versus Trade discloses Versus Trade Ltd, registered in Saint Lucia under number 2024-00586, at The Sotheby Building, Rodney Bay, Gros-Islet. It states that the company is duly registered. It does not name a financial regulator, does not quote a licence number, and does not describe itself as regulated.

We give real credit for that, and the transparency pillar reflects it. A large part of this market claims supervision it does not have, quotes a company number as though it were a licence, or cites a body that does not exist. Versus Trade tells you what it is: a company registration in Saint Lucia and nothing more.

The consequence is still the consequence. A Saint Lucia company registration carries no client-money rule, no capital requirement, no compensation scheme, no leverage cap, no ombudsman and no supervisor. If a withdrawal is refused, there is no authority with power to act.

3. It excludes the places that would stop it

Versus Trade states it does not serve residents of the USA, Canada, Iran, Myanmar, North Korea, Russia, Belarus, the EU and EEA countries, or the United Kingdom.

That is a more honest exclusion list than most of the brokers on this site manage, and again we credit it. It is also a map of where 1:2000 leverage is not permitted. The offer and the exclusion list are the same document read two ways.

4. What we could not find

We found no regulator warning naming Versus Trade and no substantial public complaint record. The company was registered in 2024 and has limited history. The complaints pillar is scored neutrally rather than punitively, and nothing in this review says Versus Trade has refused anyone a withdrawal.

The score is driven by the product itself. You do not need a complaint record to assess 1:2000 leverage offered to retail clients with no supervisor and no compensation scheme behind it.

Platform

Versus Trade runs MetaTrader 5 across Windows, macOS, Android, iOS and a web terminal. That is a real, well-understood platform rather than a proprietary web app, and the platform pillar reflects it. A good platform tells you nothing about whether your money comes back, but it is worth stating accurately.

Costs

No spread table, commission schedule, swap table or withdrawal fee is published that we could find. Before funding, get the spread on the pairs you trade and the withdrawal processing time in writing.

Questions traders ask

Is Versus Trade regulated?

No. It holds a Saint Lucia company registration, 2024-00586, and discloses no financial regulator or licence number. To its credit it does not claim to be regulated. A company registration is not authorisation and carries no client protection.

What does 1:2000 leverage actually mean?

A 0.05% move against a fully leveraged position wipes out the margin behind it. Major currency pairs move more than that many times in a normal trading day. Retail clients in the UK, EU and Australia are capped at 30:1 on majors precisely because of what happens at higher ratios.

Can EU or UK residents open an account?

No. Versus Trade states it does not serve residents of the EU, the EEA or the United Kingdom, along with the USA, Canada and several other jurisdictions.

What happens to my money if Versus Trade fails?

Nothing protects it. With no regulator there is no compensation scheme, no segregation requirement, no named custodian bank and no supervisor with authority to intervene.
