Is Versus Trade a scam?

Versus Trade has no licence in any jurisdiction. It has a Saint Lucia company registration, which authorises nothing. We rate it Scam.

What it actually has

Versus Trade Ltd, Saint Lucia company registration 2024-00586, at Ground Floor, The Sotheby Building, Rodney Village, Rodney Bay.

That is a certificate of incorporation. It records that a company exists. It does not authorise anyone to take deposits, hold client money, or deal in contracts for difference, and no regulator reviewed the business before it was issued.

Saint Lucia has no financial regulator licensing retail forex brokers. There is no register to check, no conduct rules to breach, no complaints process, and no compensation scheme. If your money does not come back, there is no authority with jurisdiction to make it come back.

The offer, and what the numbers mean

A $10 minimum deposit at leverage up to 1:2000, with stocks capped at 1:40.

Work through 1:2000. A position 2,000 times your margin needs the market to move 0.05% against you to wipe that margin out. On EUR/USD that is about five pips. Ordinary spread and a moment's normal volatility cover it.

No regulated jurisdiction permits anything close to this for retail clients. The FCA, ESMA and ASIC cap major pairs at 30:1. Japan caps at 25:1. The highest offshore figures elsewhere in our review set are 1:500 and 1:600, and this is three to four times those.

Leverage at that level is not a trading feature. Combined with a $10 entry price, it is a structure in which the customer's balance is consumed quickly and cheaply.

How to check this yourself

Ask Versus Trade for its regulator's name and licence number. There is no correct answer to give. If a number is provided, look it up on the regulator's own website and check that the entry names Versus Trade Ltd and not some other company.
