NXG Markets licence numbers

NXG Markets used to publish three credentials. In March 2026 its footer named a South African FSCA registration, a US FinCEN money-services registration numbered 31000305990765, and MISA licence T2022091 from the Comoros. Today only the MISA licence is left. The FSCA and FinCEN claims have been taken off the site, and the FinCEN registration behind one of them turns out to authorise selling money orders and exchanging currency, not trading CFDs.

What NXG Markets publishes today

Its home page, About page and Regulations page, read on 24 September 2026, carry a single credential between them:

Entity NXG Markets Limited
Licence quoted MISA (Mwali International Services Authority) T2022091
Address Bonovo Road, Fomboni, Island of Moheli, Comoros Union

The Regulations page is headed "Licensed. Regulated. Trusted Worldwide." and promises "globally recognized licenses". It then lists exactly one, numbered 1. We searched all three pages for the strings FinCEN, MSB, FSCA and 51192. None of them appears.

What it published in March

An archived copy of the site from 12 March 2026 carries a longer footer. It states that NXG Markets (Pty) Ltd "is licensed as a Financial services provider FSCA (Financial Sector Conduct Authority) South Africa", that NXG Markets Limited is "an MSB-registered and authorized company by FinCen in USA with registration number (31000305990765)", and that NXG Markets Limited is authorised by MISA under licence T2022091. It also gave a correspondence address at Al Serkal Building 2, Port Saeed, Dubai. When we last reviewed the broker on 2 September 2026 the FSCA claim carried the number 51192.

So in six months the site has dropped a US regulator, a South African regulator, a second legal entity and a Dubai address. Nothing on the site marks the change or explains it. Credentials that quietly disappear are worth more attention than credentials that were never there, because they tell you the firm was willing to publish them in the first place.

The FinCEN registration is real, and it is not a trading licence

The number is genuine. We searched FinCEN's MSB Registrant Search on 24 September 2026 and BSA ID 31000305990765 returns one entry:

Legal name NXG markets Limited
Address Bonovo Road, Fomboni, Island of Moheli, Comoros
Registered activities Seller of money orders, money transmitter, dealer in foreign exchange
Branches 0
Date received 23 July 2025

"Dealer in foreign exchange" is the phrase that does the work in a broker's marketing, and it does not mean what a trader assumes. In FinCEN's own activity key it sits alongside check cashing and money orders. It describes exchanging one currency for another, the business a bureau de change is in. It says nothing about leveraged contracts for difference, client money segregation, execution quality or capital adequacy, because FinCEN is an anti money laundering bureau rather than a markets regulator.

What FinCEN says about being on its own list

The MSB Registrant Search page carries a standing warning, printed above the search box. FinCEN writes that fraudsters are using its MSB registration process to defraud the public, that "you should not trust a company only because it is listed in the MSB Registrant Search", and that it "does not approve or endorse any business that has registered as an MSB. Any such claim and similar claims are false and may be part of a scam".

NXG Markets described itself as an "MSB-registered and authorized company by FinCen". That is the claim FinCEN names. The register also notes that its entries reflect only what the registrant has supplied, with no verification of the business behind them, and registration is self-filed through an e-filing form.

The FSCA claim and the register that matters

The March footer named a second company, NXG Markets (Pty) Ltd, as an FSCA-licensed financial services provider. South Africa licenses advice and intermediary services under one Act and the issuing of CFDs under another, and only the second, an OTC Derivative Provider approval under the Financial Markets Act, permits a firm to be your counterparty. Our guide explains the split.

We read the FSCA's ODP register in full on 24 September 2026. It holds 95 entries, 47 of them approved, and no NXG entity appears in any status, under either spelling.

That leaves MISA, which is the weakest of the three

Mwali International Services Authority operates from the island of Moheli in the Comoros. It licenses brokerage in a jurisdiction with no compensation scheme, no client money rulebook comparable to a European or Australian regime, and no practical enforcement reach over a firm taking deposits from abroad. We set out what a MISA licence is and is not in a separate guide.

Bonovo Road, Fomboni is also the registered address of six other brokers in our database, and of Intrepot Investments Ltd, the Comoros company that CIFMarkets names in its terms as the firm actually issuing its contracts. It is a registered-agent address rather than a building anyone works in, so the address on the licence tells you nothing about where the firm or the money is.

Frequently asked questions

What is NXG Markets' licence number?

As of 24 September 2026 NXG Markets publishes one licence, MISA T2022091, held by NXG Markets Limited at Bonovo Road, Fomboni, Comoros. Until recently it also published US FinCEN MSB registration 31000305990765 and an FSCA claim under a second entity, NXG Markets (Pty) Ltd. Both have been removed from the site.

Does a FinCEN MSB number mean NXG Markets is regulated in the United States?

No. An MSB registration is a self-filed anti money laundering registration covering activities such as money transmission and currency exchange. FinCEN states on the register itself that it does not approve or endorse any registered business and that claims of FinCEN authorisation are false. It is not a licence to offer CFDs to US or any other clients.

Is NXG Markets regulated by the FSCA in South Africa?

It no longer says so. The claim appeared on the site earlier in 2026 under the name NXG Markets (Pty) Ltd and has since been removed. We checked the FSCA's OTC Derivative Provider register in full on 24 September 2026 and no NXG entity appears on it, so there is no South African authorisation to issue CFDs in either name.
