FOREX.com licence numbers
FOREX.com's UK licence number is FCA 446717, held by StoneX Financial Ltd. Finding that out is harder than it should be. FOREX.com's own regulation page names eight regulators and zero companies and zero licence numbers. The entity map below had to be assembled from eight regional footers and then checked, one at a time, against eight registers.
The numbers, by market
All eight verified at the regulator's own source.

Eight licences is not eight protections
"Regulated in eight jurisdictions" is the marketing claim. Four of the eight have a compensation scheme is the fact. The UK has the FSCS, Cyprus the ICF, Canada the CIPF and Japan the JIPF. The US, Australia, Singapore and the Cayman Islands have nothing for a retail forex client.
The Cayman entry is the one that decides the most accounts. If you are not in one of the seven named markets, the company on your client agreement is GAIN Global Markets, Inc., holding CIMA licence 25033. That is the pattern this site marks offshore brokers down for: a tier-1 licence in the shop window and an offshore company on the contract for everyone else.
FOREX.com still rates Trusted because the arrangement is disclosed on the firm's own regulation page rather than buried, because the licence is real and long held, and because seven of the eight are tier-1. But the Cayman number is the one most readers of that marketing line will actually be trading under.
What the CySEC register adds
The Cyprus entry is unusually informative. StoneX Europe Ltd lists CITYINDEX and forex.com as approved trade names, and three approved domains: forex.com/ie, forex.com/de-de/ and forex.com/pl-pl/.
Its permissions include dealing on own account, which is the register confirming that the firm is the counterparty to your trade. That is a check worth running on every CySEC-licensed broker, and CySEC is one of the few regulators that publishes it plainly.
Two details the registers gave up that the website would not
The Canadian dealer's registered address is 30 Independence Blvd, Warren, New Jersey, per CIRO. That is the same building as the US entity. A registration rather than an office.
The Australian entity has three former names, per AFCA: Gain Capital Australia Pty Ltd, Gain Capital Forex.com Australia Pty Ltd and City Index Australia Pty Ltd. AFCA still lists the website as cityindex.com.au rather than forex.com. Member number 15127, joined 23 April 2010, ABN 50141774727.
Check it yourself
Search 446717 on register.fca.org.uk and 0339826 on NFA BASIC. For the entity that actually applies to you, read the footer of the regional site you are signing up on, not the central regulation page, because that is where the company name and number appear. Our guide sets out the method.
Frequently asked questions
What is FOREX.com's FCA number?
446717, held by StoneX Financial Ltd and authorised since 24 March 2006. UK clients are covered by the FSCS to £85,000. FOREX.com's own regulation page names the FCA but does not publish the company name or the number, so it has to be read off the UK site footer or the register.
Who owns FOREX.com?
StoneX Group Inc., listed on NASDAQ under SNEX. The retail forex business trades through GAIN Capital Group LLC in the US, StoneX Financial Ltd in the UK, StoneX Europe Ltd in the EU and several other StoneX companies by market.
Which FOREX.com entity will I be with?
It depends where you live. Seven markets have their own licensed company: the UK, Cyprus and the EU passport countries, the US, Canada, Japan, Australia and Singapore. Everyone outside those markets contracts with GAIN Global Markets, Inc., a Cayman Islands company holding CIMA licence 25033, which carries no compensation scheme.
